So, I answered the phone and asked Daddy immediately, "How's Mom?" He says, "Hang on a minute. - Why don't you talk to her." Then he puts Mom on the phone and she gruffly says, "Goodnight." It has been 16 long days since I spoke to Mom on the phone. It was nice to hear her voice again. Even if it didn't really sound like her voice yet. So, of course, I had to blog and let you all know about that exciting moment. Now - you can all go call your Moms and tell them how much you love them and miss them. I am going to bed.
Oh, and one more thing - Mom got her feeding tube out of her nose. YEA!
You go Debbie! Ask those nurses for some whipping cream to go with that jello! Amy, enjoy every moment of your last few days before you go back to work. Rest and relax and we will be thinking of you along with you mom as you adjust to the new schedule.

Thank you Amy!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event! I can't wait to see you and Debbie. I am happy for you, that she talked to you on the phone. That is very encouraging.
See you soon!
Love and sweet dreams!

Aw! now I feel bad for waiting so long to come read this post! We were watching tv when my mom called and said 'go read the blog and do what it says',the program got over, and we were watching the news, and when Joe left for work I came back upstairs to shut down the house and read the blog. So, even though it's 10:30...I gotta go call my mom.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy, Congratulations you guys, it's been so hard for so many days, it's wonderful to hear about your victories!
Way cool!! When I was at the hospital earlier today, I told Debbie the story of January 21... the day this journey began for her family & friends. Of course, as we all know now, the journey began a long time ago for Debbie. I told Debbie of all the family and friends there the day of the surgery... I counted 25 in all. They flew in from Washington, DC, Iowa, Kerrville, Kerens, Houston... Debbie brought 'em in from all over. She drew a lot of attention. She said she had not heard that story before, even the part where she got a helicopter ride to Baylor-Dallas from Baylor-Waxahachie. Well, as Ellen says: "give us the short version, Max". OK, said all that to say that God is good and He is in control, thankfully. May God continue to bless Debbie and her fam!!
ReplyDeleteTears! Love you all - Heather
